Small Print
These are some of the terms and conditions I share with clients, which will give you an idea of some of the parameters of our work together. If you are interested in working together, please consider these terms and see if they work for you. If you have any questions, drop me a line.
Times, Dates and Duration of Therapy
Sessions will last 50 minutes, and will take place at the same time every week.
I have a 24hr cancellation policy, so if you need to cancel a session, you will not be charged so long as it is more than 24 hours in advance. Sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be charged the full fee.
Holidays
I take holiday for two weeks at Christmas, two weeks at Easter, and I take 5-6 weeks off over the month of August. I will give you as much notice as possible for any other absences.
If you have dates that you know you will be away, I appreciate as much notice as possible.
If you need to be away for more than two sessions in a row, I may not be able to hold your space for you, but this would depend on circumstances and would be something we would discuss.
Confidentiality
Everything we discuss in our sessions is confidential. The only person with whom I will discuss our work is my clinical supervisor, and this will be anonymous.
The only exceptions to this are in the following circumstances:
– If you are in danger of harming yourself or someone else, I may suggest you speak to your GP or another professional. If you are unable to do so, I may take the decision to contact your GP directly.
– In some circumstances, I am legally required to disclose if you are breaking the law, including if you are involved in terrorism, child abuse, drug trafficking or money laundering.
Audio Recording
To support my ongoing training and clinical development, and to ensure that I am working to the highest professional and ethical standards, it can be helpful for me to audio record our sessions. Recordings are encrypted, anonymous and will be destroyed once they are no longer needed. Although this is helpful for me it is not a condition of our working together, so please say if you would be uncomfortable with this.
Working Online
I work primarily face-to-face, however if, on occasion, you need to work online for practical reasons, we can discuss it. I do not offer exclusively online work at the moment as I believe a face-to-face relationship offers greater potential for support.
Concerns and Complaints
I am a registered member of the UKCP and BACP and I work in accordance with their codes of Ethics and Professional Practice (these can be found online). If you have any concerns about our work together, I will encourage you to bring them to me so we can discuss them, however you can also register any concerns or complaints with the professional bodies themselves.
